MEET MILAN!
We’re excited to introduce Milan, who joined LIVLoved in July 2025! Milan is a Virginia State Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula with a passion for supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. She brings expertise in childbirth education and trusted overnight postpartum care, helping parents feel informed, nurtured, and supported. Beyond her work with families, Milan loves cooking homemade meals, attending local festivals, and relaxing with a good book alongside her Frenchie. We’re thrilled to have her compassion and experience as part of our team!

Early Support for Feeding Success

One of the most important pieces of advice I can share with new parents is this: don’t wait to ask for help. If challenges arise in the early days of feeding, reaching out right away can help ease concerns before they impact your milk supply.

Remember, newborns may feed as often as 12 times in a 24-hour period. That frequency can quickly magnify any difficulties, which is why early support makes such a difference.

Here are a few red flags to watch for:

Baby not gaining weight
Sore or cracked nipples
Few wet or dirty diapers
Clogged ducts or mastitis
Baby is not satisfied or crying at the breast

If you notice any of these signs, you don’t have to navigate them alone—timely support can make feeding more comfortable and successful for both you and your baby.

Reflecting on the Doula Meet & Greet hosted by Whole Heart Space

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, we had the privilege of participating in the Doula Meet & Greet hosted by Whole Heart Space. This gathering brought together families who are pregnant or planning for pregnancy, along with doulas and perinatal professionals from across the community.

For us, the event wasn’t just about booking clients; it was about connection. We were grateful for the opportunity to share what we do at LIVLoved, supporting families during the postpartum period, while also strengthening bonds with our doula colleagues and other professionals dedicated to perinatal care.

We are honored to serve in this space, walking alongside families as they transition into parenthood, and we look forward to continued collaboration with the amazing community of caregivers here in Richmond.

Nurturing Community Spotlight:
A New Way to Support Families

At LIVLoved, we’re always looking for ways to make life easier for families. Our newly launched rental site allows parents to access essential items without the pressure of immediate purchase. Think of it as a “try before you buy” option, helping families discover what truly works for them.

It’s also a resource for families traveling to the Richmond area who may not want to haul everything with them. By offering these rentals, we hope to reduce stress, create convenience, and support families in practical, meaningful ways—because community care means sharing what we have to make each other’s journey a little lighter.
