When Stress Doesn’t Have to Feel Stressful

This past year, I’ve been paying closer attention to my limits—mentally and emotionally. For so long, I pushed through on “E,” filling my days without realizing how stretched I really was. Slowly, I began making small changes: no more than two meetings a day, short breaks each hour to reset, and intentional time to decompress. What I found surprised me—my focus improved, my energy lasted longer, and I could handle stress-filled circumstances without letting them become overwhelming. Even when I felt drained, I had clarity and peace, which helped me recognize when I needed rest and gave me the courage to take it.

This lesson connects deeply to life with a new baby. Postpartum brings long days and unpredictable demands, but sustainable rhythms make the difference between being stretched too thin and moving through challenges with steadiness. Pausing, listening to your body, setting limits, and creating small moments to recover are practices that not only support your wellbeing but also equip you to show up fully for your baby and family.
